Poets are readers of poetry. When we’re stuck, we read to understand what others have created and better understand our own potential. Each poet will share 1-2 poems that helped them to write their own poetry followed by their original poems.Author Bios: Nate Logan is the author of Inside the Golden Days of Missing You (Magic Helicopter Press, 2019). His poems appear in New England Review, Poet Lore, Mom Egg Review, Gargoyle, Auburn Avenue, and Fledgling Rag. His work has also been included in several anthologies, and he was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2016 and 2017. He is a member of Cave Canem&#x27;s first cohort of fellows, a former Bread Loaf working scholar, and has attended or been awarded writing residencies at the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Soul Mountain, and Manhattanville College. He has taught English, coordinated/directed equity and justice work, and advised student clubs in Washington, D.C.-area independent schools for more than two decades. He lives in Silver Spring with his wife, poet Teri Ellen Cross Davis, and their children.Mike Lewis-Beck writes from Iowa City.
