<h3>MESSAGE FROM THE HOSTS:</h3><p>Escape to the Coast is an opportunity (over 2 days - day two info to be released later) for adult photographers (18+) of all skill levels, to practice our craft and experiment with photography, stepping outside the box of traditional photography with an attempt at creating fine art and simply enjoying our time creating with others. Participants can choose one or both days to attend (tickets required for both individually). All expenses associated with attending (travel, food, lodging, etc) are up to the participants to cover on their own. This is a free event, however a donation of your choosing, from as little as $5 per person, is requested in order to help cover organizational/coordinating and admin costs.</p><h3>ABOUT THE HOSTS:</h3><p>Teresa, Julie, and Kristey are friends and photographers who share a passion for encouraging community over competition. Teresa and Julie live in the Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR area and actively engage the local community there with regular Photographer Meetups where photographers of all skill levels have the opportunity to meet, socialize, and photograph volunteer subjects. Teresa, Julie, and sometimes other photographers in the community host, coordinate, and arrange all the details for these meetups and have made a significant difference in the lives of the photographers who participate. </p><p>Teresa and Kristey are co-creators/founders of The Traveling Dress Collective. (<a href="https://www.thetravelingdresscollective.com/our-story/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.thetravelingdresscollective.com/our-story/</a>) The collective encourages community over competition by inspiring photographers to group up and collaborate to create with the same dress, passed along to each to photograph in turn. It is a more than fair trade to thank them for their time modeling for us. </li><li>Social Media Tagging - Tag volunteer subjects by their requested social media tags, and hosts in any shares/postings.</li><li>Show Respect - Abide by the directions of the hosts, don&#x27;t adjust any details on the body of a volunteer model without asking first, be kind! </li><h3></h3></ul><h3>EVENT FLOW: </h3><p>1pm: We meet at the location near a beach location at Otter Rock, (TBA approximately 3 days before).</p><p>1-1:15pm-ish: We will stand around waiting for stragglers and as I finish up wardrobe choices with the volunteer subjects. </p><p>1:15/30pm-ish: We&#x27;ll make introductions and let people know how the event will go. We will be giving each of our volunteer subjects a number and have ya&#x27;ll count off into groups and we will spread out among each of them. We would like to keep the photographer-to-subject ratio around 5 to 1, so this means space will be limited depending on the number of volunteer subjects we acquire for the event. After around 30-45 minutes of photographing in your assigned group/model, I will have ya&#x27;ll rotate as a group to the next model for another 30-45 minutes, and repeat as time allows, etc. </p><p>OPTIONAL 4-5:30pm: When the offical event time has ended, volunteer subjects and photographers can hang around and photograph more if they so choose with whomever is left after that. I plan to hang around, however, I will not be coordinating things after that point, so you can feel free to leave and/or stay as you wish. </p><p>OPTIONAL 6pm: Join us for dinner in Otter Rock (exact location TBA) were we can all chat and share. (meal cost is the responsibility of each participant)</p><p></p><h3>NOTE ABOUT RESPECT: </h3><p>Ya&#x27;ll are adults and can obviously do what you want, but I respectfully ask that you do not walk around to different groups/models during the official meetup time (1pm-4pm). Stay with your assigned group/model. We are doing shifts and randomizing groups with the models because otherwise photographers tend to show &quot;model favoritism&quot; (all photographers clamoring to photograph one model), it simply isn&#x27;t polite to our volunteer subjects or us hosts. Every photographer will have an opportunity to photograph at least two of the volunteer subjects but not all of them in the official time-frame we have set. You can expect to verbally be called out on it and you may be excluded from other meet ups in the future if you don&#x27;t cooperate in this! You&#x27;ve been warned. </p><p></p><h3>NOTE ABOUT VOLUNTEER SUBJECTS (those who pose for us):</h3><p>In general I, Teresa, do not seek to acquire professional or aspiring models for these events. Instead, I try and acquire everyday people to pose. This is purposefully done in an attempt to make these meetups oportunities to practice posing everyday people who may one day become clients for some of you.
