The WA branch of the Council for Exceptional Children and Council for Children with Behavior Disorders is an advocacy group composed of educators and education professionals dedicated to increasing accessibility and equity for students with special needs of all kinds.

Let's keep the energy up to head into our last few months of the school year and get some guidance from career experts. We're almost there!

Three regional experts are sharing their insights for educators and students in this engaging and enlightening virtual spring conference hosted by the Washington branches of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and Division for Emotional &amp; Behavioral Health (DEBH).Join us at 8:45am on Saturday, April 29 via Zoom, hosted by Washington State University-Vancouver, when we'll kick off the conference at 9:00 with Dr. Christen Knowles, a professor from University of Oregon specializing in Autism and Emotional/Behavior Disorders. Following Dr. Knowles is Sally Carmen, who applies her years of Occupational Therapy to supporting people of all ages affected by trauma and adverse experiences. Our final presenter is Dr. Alicia Roberts Frank, a Regional Administrator for Special Programs/Dyslexia Specialist for OSPI bringing her experience with Slingerland and Orton Gilingham approaches to teaching students with dyslexia.A﻿fter these fantastic presentations, our conference will wrap up with the CEC and DEBH board members drawing names of attendees for a handful of awesome door prizes, including books, tools, and even a CEC year-long membership!W﻿e look forward to seeing you on April 29th for an excellent conference with incredible insights!
