Artists' Table Brunch

Founded in 1992 by avant-garde visionary and theater director Robert Wilson, The Watermill Center is an interdisciplinary laboratory for the arts and humanities located on Long Island’s East End. With an emphasis on creativity and collaboration, Watermill ​integrates performing arts practice with resources from the humanities, research from the sciences and inspiration from the visual arts. ​The Center is unique within the global landscape of experimental artistic practice and regularly convenes the brightest minds from across disciplines to do, in Wilson’s words, “what no one else is doing.”

Join us for an intimate studio visit with our Artists-in-Residence, followed by a locally-sourced meal on our scenic campus.

Artists’ Table invites the public to an intimate presentation by Artist-in-Residence Katerina Andreou, followed by a farm-to-table meal from East End chef Jason Weiner on The Center’s scenic campus. Artists’ Table at The Watermill Center is supported by Drs. Mark &amp; June Halsey and Halsey Dermatology, and features wine pairings by Wölffer Estate Vineyard.Chef Jason Weiner boasts extensive experience at many of the country’s top kitchens. Since 2001, he has served as executive chef and proprietor of Almond restaurant, which opened its first location in Bridgehampton, NY, in 2001 and a Florida outpost in Palm Beach in 2019. Weiner also owns and operates L&W Market, which opened in 2018, that offers prepared foods straight from Almond’s kitchen, take-out items, dry goods, local produce, and Almond’s own product line, #kimchijews.Born in Athens and based in France, Katerina Andreou graduated from the Law School-University of Athens and the State School of Dance in Athens. She attended the program ESSAIS in CNDC d’ Angers and holds a master’s degree of Paris 8 in research and choreography. As a dancer, she collaborated with DD Dorvillier, Lenio Kaklea, Bryan Campbell, Dinis Machado, Emmanuelle Huynh, and Ana Rita Teodoro. In her work, she is interested in developing states of presence sorting out from a constant negotiation between contrasted tasks, fictions, and universes, often questioning the relation to ideas such as authority and autonomy, communication, and censorship. She often makes the music design of her own pieces. She was awarded the choreography prize Prix Jardin d’Europe, at ImpulsTanz Festival in 2016 for the solo dance piece “A kind of fierce.” She then created the solo “BSTRD” (2018) and the duo “Zeppelin Bend” (2021) with Natali Mandila, “Rave to Lament” (2021), a site-specific performance with a tuned car, and recently the solo “Mourn Baby Mourn” (2022). She is associated artist at centre chorégraphique national de Caen en Normandie and the Master Program EXERCE in CCN de Montpellier. Katerina Andreou is a recipient of the Baroness Nina von Maltzahn Fellowship for the Performing Arts at The Watermill Center.<h2>Additional Information</h2>Please note: The Watermill Center no longer requires visitors to wear face coverings for indoor events.
