The Power of Deep Listening

Authentic Presence offers training in contemplative-based care for people from all walks of life to discover their own inner resources for well-being and wholeness. We train healthcare professionals, volunteers and family caregivers in how to practice compassion and presence while caring for the seriously ill and dying.In our professional skills-training programs, we offer an integrated approach to the practical, emotional and spiritual dimension of care for living and dying. Caregivers learn step-by-step how to apply and integrate mindfulness, meditation and compassion training to strengthen their resilience and enhance their care.Family caregiving programs provide the means to address the multiple spiritual and emotional challenges of caring for a loved one, in a convenient self-study format.To date, more than 40,000 professionals and volunteers from around the world working in all fields of medicine, social care, and education have attended skills-training programs.This training draws its inspiration from Buddhist contemplative tradition and effective methodologies for deepening the human capacity for compassion, mindful awareness and authentic presence. It draws particularly from The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying as well as scientific research.Authentic Presence offers a variety of residential and online programs to meet the needs of busy professionals and family caregivers.

<h2>This is a full introduction to the powerful method of Deep Listening.  This method provides a safe, open space for listening transforming communication at all levels, allowing the unspoken to be heard.</h2><h3>What to expect</h3><ul><li>experiential time to deepen embodiment and awareness while listening</li><li>reflections for listening with open awareness, compassion and presence </li><li>ways to enhance compassion in communication,</li><li>gentle exercises in breakout rooms to explore this way of listening with like-minded others</li><li>time for discussion and questions</li></ul>

<p><em>Rosamund Oliver is an international trainer focusing on teaching communication skills to professionals. As an accredited psychotherapist, she worked with clients and with the elderly in psychiatric care for ten years, before founding </em><a href="https://www.deeplisteningtraining.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><em>Deep Listening Training </em></a><em>in 2003. Her other educational work includes being an International Educator on the Spiritual Care Programme, teaching stress reduction to nurses, creating a prison meditation project and training psychotherapists. For over 40 years, she studied how to apply Buddhist meditation and philosophy to everyday life, and she is still learning.</em></p>
