Important Registration Reminders: <ul><li>Student registration is free. If the student ticket does not appear as $0.00 at checkout, <a href="https://airtable.com/shrTG7yoN8YTWXni1" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">please fill out this form</a> to receive a promo code. Student groups should be accompanied by a sufficient number of adult chaperones to successfully manage student behavior. </li></ul><ul><li>A﻿dult registration is only $5. While all tickets have previously been free at this annual event, we are now asking adults to pay $5 (plus a small processing fee) in order to combat the ongoing battle of spam registrants and to help defray the costs of the event. </li></ul><ul><li>Lunch is not included with your ticket purchase. Please remember to bring a sack lunch for each person in your group. The lunch break of 60 min. will be insufficient to walk to the nearest fast food restaurant. </li></ul><ul><li>The b﻿ookstore will be open before and after the event and during the lunch break. </li></ul><h3>About the event: </h3>After a 3-year hiatus, we are excited to announce that the annual Intelligent Design Education Day is returning to Washington State with new speakers and sessions related to the theme of Tiny Tech. This in-person event is open to all ages but designed especially for middle and high school students in home or private school settings. Take advantage of this field trip opportunity for students to meet and interact directly with scientists who study the design of life. The goal will be to introduce students to the concept of intelligent design, provide examples of the extraordinary technology present in nature’s tiniest life forms, and share some exciting updates from the field of nanotechnology, where scientists and engineers often utilize biomimicry to advance human technologies inspired by nature. Interactive sessions, videos, and activities will help students to see the connection between the intelligence required to create human technologies and the necessity of intelligence in the origin of life and biodiversity. Students will also be challenged to think critically about Darwinian evolution, which has failed to provide sufficient explanation for the beauty and complexity of nature’s tiniest technology.Whether you are looking for opportunities to supplement your science curriculum, to offer a critique of the evolutionary paradigm so common in mainstream curriculum, or to help students integrate their understanding of science and faith, this event will help inspire youth and adults alike by showcasing some of nature’s grandest — and yet tiniest — innovations.
