The Big Picture: Future Planning Series

A six part live virtual series on planning for the future for your adult son/daughter with a developmental disability.

You are invited you to join a 6- week virtual training series that will focus on long term planning and decision making for families with adult children with developmental disabilities. Sessions will be live on Zoom and include a mix of learning from subject matter experts, facilitated discussion within a small group, and interaction with other families.Class members will receive: 1. Six live informational sessions on topics to specifically help you prepare for the future of your son/daughter with a developmental disability when you pass or are no longer capable of caregiving. Each session is 75 minutes.Classes are small, and the content is delivered live with an interactive format.Sample Topics:<ul><li>Housing Options</li><li>Legal Planning </li><li>Financial Planning</li><li>Funding Sources</li><li>Long Term Supports</li></ul>The subject matter will be tailored towards the priorities and needs of the participants. Families will fill out a confidential pre-event survey prior to the start of the sessions.2. Big Picture Workbook with questions for session discussion and self reflection.3. Resource List for you to explore after each session based upon the discussion and needs of the group.4. Self Care: An invitation to try a new self care practice each week, based on <a href="https://www.chifortwo.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Chi for Two</a>, the Dance of Healthy Relationships.This series is a unique opportunity to explore options in a safe, supportive environment.
