<h3>Wednesday, February 22, 7:00PM</h3><h3><em>How P-22 United Our City: Love Letters to L.A.’s Favorite Cat </em></h3><h3>Beth Pratt, Martha Groves, Sherry Mangel-Ferber, Laura Nelson, Miguel Ordeñana, Alan Salazar, and others</h3><h3><em>Co-presented with the Los Angeles Public Library </em></h3>

<h3><strong>Members of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles are invited to join us for a private reception in the Library&#x27;s Courtyard prior to the event, from 5:30 PM - 7 PM. Member reception access included with program RSVP. </strong></h3>

This program features personal stories by various individuals who made a connection with P-22 and understand the immediate need for wildlife protection. The evening features California Regional Executive Director for the National Wildlife Federation’s <strong>Beth Pratt</strong>, journalist <strong>Martha Groves</strong>, author <strong>Sherry Mangel-Ferber</strong>, Senior Manager of Community Science for Natural History Museum <strong>Miguel Ordeñana</strong>, Chumash and Tataviam Elder <strong>Alan Salazar</strong>, and others.
As part of our program, we are looking for Angelenos of all ages to share a personal essay, letter, poem, song, or other form of remembrance that expresses what P-22 means to them. Here are the guidelines:<ul><li>Time limit is three minutes</li></ul><ul><li>Must be your own original work</li></ul><ul><li>Must be willing and able to read from the stage at the evening event on February 22, 2023 (stage is wheelchair accessible)</li></ul><ul><li>Must be willing to be photographed, videoed, and recorded for live-streaming, podcast, and archival purposes (a signed release will be required)</li></ul>
To submit, email your name, phone number, and the piece you would like to share to programs@lfla.org by<strong> 12 pm on February 15, 2023</strong>. If you are selected, you will be notified by<strong> 12 pm on February 21, 2023</strong>.
Please note, on Saturday, February 4, people can gather at select Los Angeles Public Library locations to livestream “P-22 Celebration of Life,” his homegoing event happening at the Greek Theatre. The celebration will feature emotional spoken, artistic, and video tributes as well as live musical performances. For more information, please visit lapl.org/p-22.
