An Evening of Jazz

The purpose of the  Saratoga Foothill  Club Public Lecture Series is to stimulate and cultivate an interest in the community at large and in the outside world, in the tradition of the Foothill Study Club. This educational forum provides topics of current interest and areas of awareness. These lectures are open to the public as well as Foothill Club Members.  Club members and the general public are invited to purchase tickets for individual lectures in the series.

The Saratoga High School Advanced Jazz ensemble will perform a wide variety of works, big band swing tunes to modern new works

Get ready to tap your feet to the music as the Saratoga High School advanced jazz ensemble presents a wide variety of works from big band swing tunes to modern new works. Major highlights include brand new commissioned works by world renowned trumpeter and composer (and Saratoga High School alum) Tony Glausi as well as pieces arranged by students of the band. Additionally, the concert will feature select soloists and chamber music through a completely student-run Jazz Combo.The Saratoga High School Advanced Jazz II, led by Jason Schiuan , is the top jazz ensemble at Saratoga High School. All students in this ensemble also participate in one of our core concert ensembles (band, orchestra, and/or choir) and must be accepted by audition. Over the years, the ensemble has received high ratings at local and state festivals, and been featured in local professional theaters including Cafe Pink House and the Tabard Theater.Jason Schiuan is the Performing Arts Department Chair and Diretor of Bands at Saratoga High School. Join him and our own Saratoga high School Jazz band for an entreating evening of Jazz.
