As a former design director at IDEO, author of <a href="https://aestheticsofjoy.com/the-book/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Joyful: The Surprising Power of Ordinary Things to Create Extraordinary Happiness</a>, and the founder of the website The Aesthetics of Joy, she empowers people to find more joy in life and work through design. Her immensely popular TED talk “<a href="https://www.ted.com/talks/ingrid_fetell_lee_where_joy_hides_and_how_to_find_it" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Where Joy Hides and How to Find It</a>” has been viewed more than <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TED/videos/10160634778345652/UzpfSTczMjYxODQ1MjoxMDE1NjYyODkyMzgwODQ1Mw/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">17 million times</a>. Lee holds a Master’s in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor’s in English and Creative Writing from Princeton University. The Forum has a three-part structure:• First third: Participants connect and build relationships in small break-out groups prompted by a question; • Middle third: Participants hear a presentation by and interview with our guest speaker that ends with the speaker posing a question to participants to consider;• Final third: Participants discuss the question, igniting new ideas and interactions. Nrityangan Cultural Academy has been providing classical Kathak and modern Bollywood dance training for Charlotte area students ages 5 through adult for over 20 years. Founded in 2001 by Smt. Rituparna Mukherjee, NCA is affiliated with Pracheen Kala Kendra, a premier educational organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of fine arts. All students at Nrityangan participate in cultural festivals during the year including the Festival of India and their talents are also showcased in Nrityangan’s annual recital and fundraiser. Over a hundred dancers work together to tell a story and raise funds for local and global organizations and this year’s musical Bollywood Extravaganza is Yaariyaan, which will be performed Saturday May 6 at 4pm at Ovens Auditorium.
