Join us in the PW Main Hall for Hermeto Pascoal &amp; Grupo and DJ Greg Caz this May 25, 2023.About the Artists:There have been few musicians to reach the stature of Brazilian master Hermeto Pascoal. Dubbed by Miles Davis as "one of the most impressive musicians in the world", he is a composer, producer, and self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has been an influential figure in Brazilian music for over half a century. Known as O Bruxo (“the Wizard”), his music is inspired by sounds of nature and he often incorporates unconventional objects (including a teapot and toys) in his performances, proclaiming that “everything is an instrument”. He will be joined by his “Grupo” including his son Fabio Pascoal, Itiberê Zwarg and his son Ajurinã, André Marques, and Jota P.A DJ/nightlife veteran of New York and beyond, Greg Caz has been a constant presence in DJ booths all over for many years. Well-known for his Brazilian music expertise, particularly via years of popular weekly parties at Williamsburg's Black Betty and the East Village's Nublu, he has also played virtually every genre under the sun around the city, around the country and around the world. Greg has also compiled and written liner notes for compilations and reissues on a variety of labels since the 90s.Co-presented with World Music Institute.
