The voice of African American Women Farming Cooperatives in NewEngland

Joy Reid, Chris Hayes and Trymaine Lee, will host a televised Townhall event on MSNBC. They will be joined by Minnijean Brown-Trickey, activist and member of the Little Rock Nine, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for The New York Times Magazine and creator of the landmark 1619 Project, and White House Infrastructure Coordinator and former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, among others.Common Good Cooperative, a New England based Cooperative in Boston, Massachusett host a live TownHall and Digital series watch party January 17th at 10:00PM est. African American farm cooperatives have a long history of facing bias and racism in their efforts to establish and sustain cooperatives within their communities. Despite these challenges, many cooperatives have been formed and continue to provide important benefits to their members, their communities, healthy food systems, and equitable economic development for historically marginalized, soically disadvandgted people. The Common Good Cooperative positions itself as one-such example, engaging in development of equitable community-sustaining cooperative models here in the New England region. The National Day of Racial Healing: An MSNBC Town Hall will air at 10:00pm EST on Tuesday. Viewers can watch on the Peacock livestream or catch the town hall the day after via on-demand.The Common Good Cooperative, a New England based cooperative in Boston, Massachusetts host a live TownHall and Digital series watch party January 17th at 10:00PM est.
