YOGA FOR WALKERS (Introductory class)Level: Beginner/All levelsDuration: 1 ½ hoursClass Fee: FREE (Love Donations gratefully accepted)Advanced Registration RequiredHi, I’m Collin, and I am inviting you to a very special yoga “experience.” Much more than a yoga class, this is an immersive practice to train your physical Self to relax and to teach your whole body to meditate. This system blends together gentle floor postures, breathing techniques, and deep relaxation. Even if you are not a yogi or don’t even aspire to be one, the profound effects and benefits can greatly enhance every aspect of your life. This yoga is perfect for beginners and advanced yogis alike… no experience necessary…. Everyone can find immense value. This is a Whole-Self system based upon the “Tri-Dosha Balancing Asana Series.” Yoga balances our whole Self… physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. This system of yogic practice balances and harmonizes the three doshas. (The 3 constitutions, according to Ayurveda, are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.) This is the practice of un-mind-full-ness. Eliminate the harmful effects of stress by teaching your body to wholly relax and enhance its ability to respond to life with grace and ease. In each class, the asanas (postures) are essentially the same. The sequence is very important, and we will flow through the asanas in a specific order. After performing the series repeatedly, it will become so familiar that you will not need to think about what comes, your body will flow right into it, and therefore, the effectiveness increases dramatically. Like anything new, the more frequently you practice, the greater your ability to relax becomes. Relaxation optimizes and balances your entire system. Relaxation is the key to supporting your central nervous system and is often overlooked as a major health advantage. "No pain, no gain" has no place here.Out of all the styles of yoga I have practiced (and have been certified to teach… which is four, if you include Laughter Yoga, hahaha!), this style of yoga has brought more benefit to my life than any other. I have modified the sequence to a beginner level and have found these postures are the most beneficial to walkers, hikers, and long-distance trekkers.
