She has published three compilations of poetry. “Memory in Bone”, “Conversations with Trees”, and her latest chapbook, “A Chair Keeps the Floor Down”(Finishing Line Press) which dives deeply into her long career as a Special Education teacher. She has been published in many literary journals and anthologies, including Civil Liberties United, Ghosts of the Holocaust, Collossus: Home, and Essential Truths: The Bay Area in Color and Trauma. She performs throughout the Bay Area in Spoken Duets, a poetic collaboration with Chris Kammler. In the spirit of activism they give voice to the massive injustices of the world.GIL GUILLERMO is a singer-songwriter and former public school teacher who performs originals and covers in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, as a soloist and in other group formats, including O Projeto Bom, Off the Corner, and the North-South Combo. He is also the music booking coordinator for the Noe Valley Farmers Market and for the Noe Valley Town Square.Chris Kammler is a writer, actor, performance poet. Her work is published in Aphrodite’s Pen She and Susan Dambroff perform as Spoken Duets.Eveline Kanes has published 2 books of poetry: A Coin Worn Thin, Finishing Line Press, 2015 and Traveling Through, Finishing Line Press, 2020.In her career as a literary translator, she published books ranging from fiction to history, musicology and social science. Sheila Balter started playing ukulele at age 8. After a 50-year hiatus, she is thrilled to be back in the saddle with this wondrous instrument - and with the multi-talented Sarah Noll. Sheila has been singing her whole life, plays some piano, and was/is a music, movement, and theater teacher and coach. She is a founding member of Word for Word Performing Arts Company and has performed in and directed many of their productions. Come see HOME by George Saunders, directed by Sheila, his April.Sarah Noll is a multi- instrumentalist and singer. She has been privileged to make her living in music for many years as a teacher and performer. She gives private lessons and classes in piano, ukulele, and singing. She has been ukeing and yacking regularly with Sheila Balter for the past few years. She also performs with the Chinyakare Ensemble - music and dance from Zimbabwe!Amanda BoughtonAmanda started singing in her late twenties when a friend introduced her to Sacred Harp, an early American devotional music form sung a capella in four-part harmony. She studied classical singing techniques for a year and now loves to sing folk music, particularly old English and traditional Celtic songs. Amanda accompanies her vocals with the tenor ukulele and the Shruti Box, an Indian instrument that provides a beautiful drone.Kimi Sugioka, is a mother, educator, songwriter and poet. Here newest book is Wile &amp; Wing on Manic D Press and she is the poet laureate of Alameda, CA. She loves cats and birds and believes that creating community through art is a revolutionary act.Kai Sugioka-Stone is a Japanese-American poet, mindfulness-based meditator, musician, actor, photographer, and upcoming filmmaker. His writing focuses on liminal identity, and growing up in the era of California Wildfires, the Trump presidency, and COVID. He featured at San Francisco Poet Laureate Kim Shuck’s event Sudden Return of The Fire Thieves. His work was featured in the San Francisco Public Library’s Poem of The Day project. He was published in The Berkeley Times’ Poetry Edition Vol. 10, No. 16, as well as Quiet Lightning’s zine, sPARKLE &amp; bLINK #104. He read at Tea Root’s Recovery A.C.T and gave an online writing workshop reflecting on Japanese-American Identity with Nikkei Rising. He is part of Lauren Ito’s upcoming exhibit, Political Inheritance. AS MENINAS DA BAHIA (The Girls of the Bay)Leidy Hernandez I graduated from the World Music program at Ruth Asawa school of the arts high school last year and now I drum with a group called fogo na roupa Belén Cortés I am a vocalist. I am also a percussionist and I play some other instruments sometimes as well. I graduated from Ruth Asawa SOTA world music and now I perform salsa music with various groups in the mission district. Sydney KikueI’m a multi instrumentalist in the world music program at Ruth Asawa SOTA where I am a current senior. I play mostly percussion and I like capybaras.
