Indoor and Container Gardening 101

Cultivate the City is an urban farming company based in Washington DC. We manage a network of sites including restaurant gardens, corporate and municipal green spaces, school gardens, a retail garden center and a rooftop farm at Nationals Park. Check out our various class offerings and if you don't see what you're looking for just send us a message at info@cultivatethecity.com. We can also conduct private classes as a part of a corporate retreat, birthday party or a regular Sunday!

<p>The popularity of container gardening is growing by leaps and bounds. From front porches to kitchen windowsills, you see them everywhere. And the beautiful thing about them, other than the plants themselves? Container gardens are simple to create and easy to maintain; apply a few basic principals and even first-time gardeners can bloom. If you love plants but have limited space and time, if you&rsquo;ve always wanted to garden, this is the class for you. Learn the basics on indoor gardening and how to make a sub-irrigated planter to deal with watering when you go on vacation! You can also get a little dirty and leave with a gorgeous, portable garden. Non-refundable materials fee of $10 per class is included for those who want to take home a plant. (Includes a RootPouch, potting soil and an herb or succulent)</p>
<p>Class attendees will also receive 10% off any garden purchases after the class- We just stocked up on new indoor plants and glass planters, so you'll get first pick!</p>
