During the Trump presidency, <a href="https://protectdemocracy.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Protect Democracy</a> emerged as one of the most important cross-ideological organizations dedicated to protecting our democratic values and institutions. <a href="https://protectdemocracy.org/people/beau-tremitiere/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Beau Tremitiere</a> helps lead Protect Democracy projects on political extremism and authoritarianism, including litigation and advocacy to facilitate proportional representation and fusion voting. Please join professors <a href="https://www.law.columbia.edu/faculty/olatunde-c-johnson" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Olatunde Johnson</a> and <a href="https://www.law.columbia.edu/faculty/david-pozen" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">David Pozen</a> as they hold a conversation with Tremitiere about the work of his organization, the challenges facing American democracy, and the promise and peril of constitutional amendment as a tool for meeting these challenges.—﻿This event is open to Columbia University students and faculty, and invited guests.
