Supported by the Simone Gad Foundation&#x27;s Exhibition Program, this body of work presents a found freedom for the artist that is both harmonious and unleashed.The gallery will open on Sunday, January 29th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm for this special final celebration with the artist and friends. Come enjoy the vibrantly visceral abstract oil paintings by Dena Novak. At 6:00 pm join us for a inspiring Artist Talk with Dena Novak and Greg Ellis, moderated by Ted Meyer ( <a href="http://www.tedmeyer.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.tedmeyer.com</a> ) Artist, Curator, Author and Patient Advocate. Part of their discussions will explore how each has found and developed ways to amplify creative and professional practices despite difficult and/or painful physical and mental states and conditions.The second half of the evening offers bG Gallery&#x27;s third hosting of RhythmTrance by Greg Ellis. Greg is a renowned percussionist who has performed and lectured around the world. He has founded the organizations RhythmPharm ( <a href="https://rhythmpharm.com/about/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://rhythmpharm.com/about/</a> ) and SonicAllies ( <a href="https://www.sonicallies.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.sonicallies.org</a> )which strive to expand the benefits of music for wellness or conflict resolution. Dive into his improvistional rhythmic trance performance playing his personal eclectic collections of instruments from all over the globe. The Simone Gad Foundation ( <a href="https://simonegadfoundation.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://simonegadfoundation.org</a> )seeks to support artists with unique challenges to find footing in the art world and is proud to grant Dena Novak as its first recipient of the Exhibition Program. The Simone Gad Exhibition Program helps secure and support gallery exhibitions for artists. An emphasis is placed on supporting creative practitioners who have been unfairly overlooked or who have experienced debilitating challenges or setbacks in their careers due to societal challenges, inherited legacies of generational trauma, and/or unexpected personal or financial crises. Recipients are currently selected based on board member nominations and chosen from the Residencies Program.
