About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

On 7/28 we kick off a yearlong celebration of women in the Church - capturing the voices of those who were inspired and changed by the ordination of women into The Episcopal Church.

Churches from across the diocese are asked to have their Sunday service at The Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral where one of The Philadelphia Eleven - the Rev. Dr. Carter Heyward - will preach and women from across the diocese will be represented. Lunch, a screening of the film The Philadelphia Eleven and a panel discussion to follow.

The diocese is also partnering with Story Corps to capture voices of female priests impacted and inspired by this momentous event in the Church.

Lunch

The Cathedral is providing lunch immediately after worship service. Please fill out a separate registration form so we can ensure there is enough food for everyone.

Transportation

The Diocese is looking into options to shuttle congregations into Philadelphia for this event. If your church is in need, please email jenbtucker@diopa.org or klipscomb@diopa.org.
