Harvester Presents Tennessee Songwriters Week 2023 Qualifying Round

Concerts, live perfomances, weddings, corporate events, private parties - we do it all! Bert Driver's Burlap Room Beer Garden & Live Music and Harvester Performance & Event Center are open for tours and bookings. Burlap Room is a primarily outdoor venue featuring the Red Bud Stage (with options to move to the indoor Solstice Stage  during inclement weather) located on the 7-acre grounds of Bert Driver Nursery. The Harvester Performance & Event Center is an indoor venue (with an outdoor patio) that features  The Flatwoods Concert Hall (which includes The Yella Dog Lounge, The Black Walnut Bar and Mezzanine, 500 sq. ft. stage with built-in sound system). We're so excited to host a Qualifying Round of the Fifth Annual Tennessee Songwriters Week 2023! The week celebrates the foundation of the craft for which Tennessee is known – music. Up to twenty songwriters will showcase their talent during this very special event. Event judges provided by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SmithvilleJamboree" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Smithville's Fiddlers' Jamboree</a>. Doors and Happy Hour start at 4pm. Songwriters begin at 6pm. Full bar service and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/HardwoodsSmokehouse" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hardwoods Smokehouse Express</a> food truck on site. Tennessee Songwriters Week 2023 will kick off with qualifying rounds the first two weeks of February. Select songwriters from qualifying rounds will advance to seven pre-determined showcase events in Memphis, Franklin, Gallatin, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Gatlinburg and Johnson City Feb. 19-25, 2023. Special events will also take place statewide.

All about our judges: 🎻 Darrin Vincent of Smithville, TN - Grand Ole Opry Member and half of the duo Dailey &amp; Vincent. Darrin started singing at age three and playing music at age six as part of his family band, The Sally Mountain Show, along with sister Rhonda Vincent. 👉 As a member of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder for more than 10 years, Darrin has won five Grammy Awards and 8 International Bluegrass Music Association Awards for Instrumental Group of the Year. He is an accomplished musician and vocalist with expert abilities to arrange and create captivating music.🎧 Vanissa Braswell Murphy of Smithville, TN - former Professor and Chair of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. She holds Bachelor&#x27;s (Middle Tennessee State University), Master&#x27;s (University of Kentucky), and Doctorate (University of North Texas) of Music degrees. Her favorite subject to teach: Folk &amp;Traditional Music of the United States.🪕 Michelle Canning of Nashville, TN - singer-songwriter with Massachusetts roots, Michelle makes her home in Nashville where she divides her time between performing, recording, writing, teaching banjo, and as a guide at the Grand Ole Opry. She&#x27;s a member of The Recording Academy, International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), Member of the IBMA Songwriters Committee. She&#x27;s a holds a Bachelor&#x27;s of Arts Degree in Traditional Music and Master&#x27;s Degree in Business Administration from Morehead State University. She is the only female and youngest person to earn the title New England Banjo Champion.
