The Era of Artificial Intelligence and Implications for Our Generation

This event is open to parents and high school students.
Dr. Lee will cover AI’s increasing role in our lives. He plans to explain what distinguishes the revolution of AI from previous technological revolutions — a faster pace in development and a driving force of two superpowers (US and China). AI will add $16 trillion to our global GDP, but also cause many challenges that will be hard to solve. He will talk in particular about AI replacing routine jobs, the consequences that follow this replacement, and proposed solutions that are not feasible (such as UBI). He will end with a blueprint of co-existence between humans and AI.
Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is the Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures. Prior to founding Sinovation in 2009, Dr. Lee was the President of Google in China. He has also held executive positions at Apple, Microsoft and SGI.   Dr. Lee is also the founder of Microsoft Research China, which was named as the “hottest research lab” and has trained a great majority of AI leaders in China, including CTOs or AI heads at Baidu, Tencent, Alibaba, Lenovo, Huawei, and Haier.   At Apple, Dr. Lee led AI projects in speech and natural language, some of which have been featured on Good Morning America, ABC Television, and even the front page of the Wall Street Journal.
