ABOUT MORVEN MUSEUM & GARDEN:A National Historic Landmark, Morven is unique in that it was home to many remarkable people. For nearly 300 years Morven has played a role in the history of New Jersey and the nation. Originally part of a 5,500-acre tract purchased from William Penn in 1701 by the Stockton family, it is the home of Richard Stockton, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, and is the only home of a New Jersey signer which is highly interpreted and open regularly to the public. As well as serving as a Stockton homestead for several generations into the 20th century, and home to generations of enslaved men and women, Morven was home to the families and household staff of Robert Wood Johnson, Jr., and five New Jersey Governors through 1982 as New Jersey’s first Governor’s Mansion.Morven Museum & Garden showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Garden State through regular exhibitions, educational programs and special events. Morven Museum &amp; Garden is pleased to present the 2023 Grand Homes &amp; Gardens Speaker Series: Trailblazers and Trendsetters. Generously sponsored by <a href="https://hiltonsprinceton.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hiltons Princeton</a>, join us as we explore the people and spaces, past and present, who cultivated new opportunities and inspired breakthrough trends for future generations of landscape architects, designers, entrepreneurs, and horticulturalists. Today, these places continue the work of preserving historic and natural landscapes for public benefit and community engagement. The 2023 series will feature Manitoga, Villa Lewaro, Beauport - The Sleeper McCann House, and Bartram’s Garden. All programs will be offered in a hybrid format allowing participants to join in-person or virtually. Series tickets including all four weeks of programming are available on this page.
