The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

The Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra (APSO) features Terrie Odabi. The extremely talented Terrie Odabi has officially joined the APSO as the lead vocalist. Terrie has been making guest appearances with the APSO for six years, as well as recording a duet with Wee Willie Walker on the “After A While” album. The Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra was formed in San Francisco by guitarist Anthony Paule in 2007. Inspired by soul and blues sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s, this dramatic horn-driven powerhouse creates its own classics, while staying deeply rooted in the origins of this treasured African American art form.During its 15 years existence, APSO has recorded and released six singles and five albums with Frank Bey and Wee Willie Walker. The recordings earned 17 BMA nominations, as well as coveted positions on radio playlists, and music critic’s “best of” lists. APSO is currently writing songs for its sixth album on Blue Dot Records. Relatable, empathetic songwriting; pure heart-sung vocals, and supportive, passionate instrumental performances form the backbone of this band.
