Project31 is a Boston-based visceral contemporary dance company founded in the summer of 2017 by Artistic Director, Kenzie Finn. Project 31 is an experiment of movement: freeform, fluid, and for all eyes; dance that hits you in the gut whether you're a dancer or an observer. Exploring the boundaries between contemporary and American Jazz dance, Project31's mission is to use dance as a vehicle to inspire thought, invention, and introspection in the viewer. The dancers of Project31 blend their classical backgrounds into fierce, soulful performances bridging the gap between artist and audience member. The Project31 organization is comprised of a fifteen-member professional company and an Apprentice Training Program for aspiring pre-professional dancers. Project31 is committed to fostering a sense of community and inclusion among its members.

A Celebration of Project31 Dance Company's  Fifth Anniversary

This dance season marks the fifth year of Project31&#x27;s journey and we have a lot to celebrate! In the short span of five years, Project31 has self- produced eight evening length concerts, performed in numerous festivals, held residencies, and initiated numerous educational programs including online classes, adult beginner classes, the launch of a pre professional dance intensive, and training young artists through our apprentice training program.Amidst a global pandemic Project31, has continued to persevere. In June 2021, In collaboration with with lighting designer and friend Matthew Cost, Project31 built an outdoor venue and reprised their work &quot;Group Therapy&#x27;&#x27;, a beautiful, full scale production offering a chance for the local community to continue to witness live, local performance art at a time where was little opportunity to have these experiences. Over the last five years the company has created over sixty-five pieces with fifteen pieces remaining in active repertoire. In this fifth anniversary concert we reprise some of our favorite works including a piece from each concert to date as well as new works by artistic director, Kenzie Finn and company members Gelsey White and Lacey Sasso. We invite you to celebrate with us as we take a look back at the journey to the present and look ahead at what&#x27;s to come in the future.
