4th Beracah Open Concert

You are cordially invited to the 4th Annual Concert of the Beracah Youth Orchestra.

The Beracah Music Foundation, Inc., established in May 2019, is a Non-Profit Youth Music Organization inspired by the victory depicted in "The Valley of Beracah" (ESV) mentioned in the Chapter of 2 Chronicles 20 in the Bible.

The members of Beracah Youth Orchestra, a Korean-American Youth Orchestra of Maryland, who have actively participated in various music performances and events in the Maryland community, now wish to visit Baltimore to share their musical talents and messages.

In particular, Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, the venue for their performance, has been deeply connected to the Baltimore area for over 20 years, with ties to Rev. Goucher (1845-1922), who served as pastor and was instrumental in the founding of Goucher College. He is particularly renowned as a father of Korean missions, having encouraged and sponsored missionaries such as Mary F. Scranton (1832-1909), the first female missionary to Korea and founder of Ewha Haktang, and H.G. Appenzeller(1858-1902), who established Pai Chai School.

We hope you will find moments of comfort, hope, healing, and joy at the delightful cultural feast held at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, a historical venue deeply intertwined with Korean society.

* Selected concert guests will be gifted with a book of poems titled “A Diary of a Merchant who Became a Poet” by Dae-Eung Kim. Mr. Kim has been operating a small business in Baltimore for over 20 years. Beracah recognizes and supports Korean-American small business owners who continue to strive to make communities stronger even in the compromised security and instability.

브라카 청소년 오케스트라의 제4회 정기연주회에 정중히 초대합니다.

브라카 음악재단 Beracah Music Foundation, Inc.은 역대하 20장에 등장하는 “브라카 골짜기 the Valley of Beracah(ESV)” 의 승리를 배경으로 2019년 5월에 설립된 비영리 청소년 음악단체입니다.

메릴랜드 지역 사회에서 다양한 음악 공연과 행사에 적극적으로 참여해 온 우리 학생들은 이제 볼티모어를 찾아가서 자신들의 음악적 재능과 메시지를 전달하고자 합니다.

특별히, 공연 장소인 러블레 레인 연합 감리교회는 볼티모어 지역에서 약 20년 넘게 목회를 하고 타우슨 가우처 대학교(Goucher College) 설립기여자이자 총장을 역임한 가우처 목사님(1845-1922)과 깊이 관련이 있는 교회입니다. 특히 그는 한국 선교의 아버지라고 불리며, 한국 최초의 여선교사이며 이화 학당을 설립한 메리 스크랜튼(1832-1909)과 배재 학당을 설립한 아펜젤러(1858-1902) 선교사등을 격려하고 후원하였습니다.

이렇듯 한국사회와 깊은 연관이 있는 역사적 장소인 볼티모어 러블리 레인 연합 감리교회에서 열리는 향기로운 문화의 잔치에서 위로와 희망, 회복과 기쁨의 순간을 찾으시길 바랍니다.

*공연 참석자 에게 김대응 시인의 “시인이 된 장사꾼의 일기”를 기념 증정합니다.(50개한정)

김대응 시인은 지난 볼티모어 지역에서 약20년 넘게 사업을 하시고 시인으로 등단한 지역사회 시인이십니다. 브라카는 볼티모어 한인사회를 계승하며 지역 발전을 위해 수고하시는 한인상업인들을 지원합니다.

Application for Advertising for Organisations and Businesses Supporting the Baltimore Community

The Beracah Music Foundation, Inc. is hosting an advertising event through the 4th Beracah Annual Concert to support and pray for individuals, organizations, businesses, etc., that contribute to and support the Baltimore community. These will be introduced in the concert program booklet (pamphlet). Amidst various confusion and challenging circumstances, we aim to comfort the Baltimore community, encourage the helping hands that serve for this purpose, and hope that this becomes an opportunity for the community to progress anew.
