Parking will be available for attendees at the following address: 153 Van Houten Street, Paterson, NJ

Signs will indicate where to go from the parking lot to arrive at the Paterson Room. The entrance to the Paterson Room is on Broadway Street, across Wendy's. The Paterson Room is located inside the Cafeteria.

9:15am – 10:15am: Supporting our Students Beyond the Classroom.

It is important to maintain students’ interest in learning by providing additional support that go beyond the classroom experience. Strategies that help our students at PCCC include:

Internships, STEM Initiatives, Workshops, Supplemental Instruction.

10:15am - 10:30am: Makerspace Tour

Tour and Demonstration of the Makerspace area at PCCC

10:30am-10:45am: Break / Publisher Showcase

10:45am-11:15am: Hackathons and the Student Experience

What is the meaning of a Hackat hon today? What impact do Hackathons have on the Community College Student today? Can we do something as Community Colleges to better support students who are interested in those events? In this session some of the PCCC students who have participated in such events will share their experience and showcase some of the work they have produced.

11:15am-12:15pm: Hackathon 101: How to Host Your Own Competition

This session will be hosted by Major League Hacking and has as a goal to explain how a hackathon or a host day can be created.

12:15pm-1:15pm: Lunch, Business Meeting and Discussions

Business Meeting

Possible Discussions: Update and Discussion regarding the 60 Credit Mandate and Computer Literacy Courses, Strategic Planning for OER in NJ – Discussion about implementing OER in technology courses.
