Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Black Warrior River and its tributaries. We are a citizen-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting clean water for the sake of public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat throughout our patrol area, the Black Warrior River watershed.

B﻿irmingham Cleanup - District 1 MLK Day of ServiceD﻿ate: January 16th, 2023 | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.L﻿ocation: Meet at Rebirth Christian Fellowship | 700 23rd Ave NW, Center Point, AL 35215Safety: This event will take place along the roadside in an area that may not have sidewalks, so please only sign up if you feel comfortable with this. ALL children must be accompanied by an adult.Weather: We are constantly monitoring the weather for our cleanups and we will proceed if there is light drizzle. This event will be cancelled if there is a threat of severe thunderstorms/lightning. If the weather is questionable, please check your email before leaving for the site.W﻿e encourage volunteers to wear and bring:<ul><li> Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty</li><li>L﻿ong pants</li><li>Closed-toe shoes</li><li>W﻿ater</li><li>S﻿un protection</li></ul>W﻿e will provide volunteers with gloves, litter grabbers, trash bags, and have a first aid kit on hand.
