WeCode/KC Volunteer Round Up & Happy Hour

WECODE KC is an initiative that serves the urban core of Kansas City focusing on exposing technology, cyber security, and computer science concepts to area youth. Learning the basic concept of coding develops creativity, problem solving skills, builds confidence and helps to build a positive future. Every child, no matter their zip code or their family’s financial status, should have the opportunity to learn to code.

W﻿eCode KC is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing Kansas City&#x27;s youth, age 7-17, with access to various areas of technology to ensure they are future-ready professionals in IT. We are growing and more students are benefitting from our programs, so we are seeking some dedicated volunteers to assist with our 2023 programming year.Join us for a fun night of music by DJ Ben Rich and tasty lite bites and beverages while getting some information about volunteering with WeCode KC. Our presenters will provide information about the various roles we are seeking to fill, describe a &quot;Day in the Life&quot; of a WeCode Volunteer, and share the current version of our annual calendar of events. Attendees who are ready to commit to our volunteer team will be able to complete their background checks onsite. We can&#x27;t wait to see you there!The volunteer roles we are seeking to fill are:<ul><li>Volunteer instructors and assistants for Saturday classes</li><li>Administrative and Support staff</li><li>Content Creators.</li></ul>The programming classes we are planning to offer in 2023 are:<ul><li>JavaScript</li><li>Python</li><li>H﻿TML &amp; CSS</li><li>Virtual Reality</li><li>Music Production &amp; Audio Engineering</li><li>Robotics</li><li>Scratch Game Development</li><li>CAD using R﻿oblox Studio </li></ul>
