No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Contemplative Stitching: Focused Needlework</h2><h3>Domains: Contemplative Practice, Creative Expression</h3><p>Some people find the process of contemplation or meditation to be daunting. The thought of having to “sit still” or empty one’s mind can seem impossible at times. Contemplative stitching offers an avenue into contemplative experience through the repetitive and calming process of being involved in using needle and thread.  NO experience is necessary to take advantage of this practice.</p><p>There will be supplies and fabric provided, but feel free to bring your own materials along to explore freeform stitching, applique techniques, and a variety of embroidery stitches as you create mini-meditation pieces.</p><p>Carolyn Grant has been a practicing artist and stitching enthusiast for many years. Her interest in exploring what can be done with a needle and thread has been enhanced by her meditative approach to the practice. </p><h3>Covid Considerations: Masks are currently optional at the Hive. Individuals may choose to wear a mask for personal protection, and as always, we ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a high temperature to not attend until they are recovered.
