T﻿his clinic introduces you to a new way of thinking about riding corners. You&#x27;ll learn to DRIVE your bike, intentionally, into corners, using your mass and body position to maximize traction and control. S﻿have seconds. Set PR&#x27;s. Get steeze. Out-ride your buddies. Get shreddy on corners by learning how to set up your line, position your body and bike, and develop an approach to cornering confidently. Completion of the 101 clinic is required before you can start the 201 clinic. 201 Builds on the skills learned in 101. Our program revolutionizes mountain bike instruction. We threw out the book that YouTubers and old school coaches use and reinvented the approach to teaching by using what works in real-world instruction, from professional athletic organizations to executive-level corporate training programs. Coach Brian K. Holder (M.A.T., Ed.S.) has 18 years of teaching experience and has been a licensed professional educator in 5 states. He uses techniques endorsed by PMBIA (licensed in Whistler, B.C.), the world&#x27;s premier mountain biking instruction organization, but has developed a new program based on what he&#x27;s observed by analyzing the top UCI DH and Enduro contenders. There&#x27;s no better instruction available anywhere in the world to help riders develop mountain bike riding skills. WHAT TO BRINGA well-tuned modern geometry (2015 -present) mountain bikeFlat pedals, NOT “clip” or “clipless,” or clipless pedals with an insert, or platform. Please remove cages from flat pedals if so equipped.Closed-toe shoes that are compatible with the pedals you’ll be using. It’s important that your pedals and shoes work together.Appropriate dress for the climate conditions. Check the weather. Dress in layers if necessary.Bicycle helmetProtective glovesHydration pack or water bottlesSnacks (energy bars/gels/chews)SunscreenSpare tube of appropriate size for your specific rimBasic repair tools (multi tool, tire levers, pump, etc.)A set of elbow and knee pads. The skills build on one another; a solid foundation of the basics is important. By learning the foundational skills one at time, a rider can feel comfortable and safe on unfamiliar, challenging terrain.Are the coaches certified? Yes. Coaches are PMBI (Professional Mountain Bike Instructor) certified and are certified in First Aid.What if there is something I am not comfortable with riding? Participation for everything is voluntary. Riders are NOT required to do anything that makes them uncomfortable or is above their skill level. If the coach feels the rider isn&#x27;t experienced to be in the clinic he or she signed up for, the coach has the right for the safety of the rider to send them home.L﻿IABILITY WAIVERA﻿ll participants will be required to sign a release of liability waiver before the clinic begins.
