Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is an economic development project of theAfrican People's Education and Defense Fund(APEDF). APEDF is a 501c3 non-profit.The African People's Education and Defense Fund defends the civil and human rights of the African community and addresses the disparities faced by the African community in education, health, health care and economic development. APEDF is building self-determination in the African community.

Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles Oakland for this 26th Annual Event

7911 MacArthur Blvd

Join this annual day of recognizing the leadership of the Civil Rights and Black Power movements of the 50s and 60s and how the work to defend the civil and human rights of the African community continues today. There will be historic video footage, a program of speakers, an outdoor volunteer project doing outreach in the community and then wrapping up with a pizza lunch and open mic. Music, snacks and a powerful day of programming all provided as well! Spend this MLK Day learning about the past and what can be done in the present, spend it in our community and contribute to programs that are on the ground today, developing self-reliance and self-determination in our communities! Light Pizza lunch will be provided.
