A conversation with the NBCUniversal LAUNCH TV Directors Program & Female Forward program.

J﻿oin NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) for a conversation with Robert Baltazar and Michael Pogarian, who oversee the creative talent programs across the NBCUniversal TV portfolio, about the NBCUniversal LAUNCH TV Directors Program &amp; Female Forward program. Robert and Michael will discuss the program, which includes curated workshops, shadowing opportunities on up to two episodes of an NBCU scripted series, and directing an in-season episode. Applications are open now and will close on December 15th, 2022.<ul><li>About the NBCU LAUNCH TV Directors Program | Female Forward:</li></ul>The NBCU LAUNCH TV Directors Program | Female Forward’s goal is to increase authentic storytelling by providing opportunities for directors who have distinct points of view and diverse lived experiences, including but not limited to those who are from historically underrepresented backgrounds, such as directors who are ethnically diverse, directors with disabilities, LGBTQ+ directors, female directors, and directors who identify as non-binary. The combined program builds on the company’s success as the first episodic directing initiative in the entertainment industry to guarantee that participants will helm at least one episode by the culmination of the program. Each participant shadows on up to two episodes of an NBCU scripted series before directing an in-season episode of the same series.M﻿ore about the program at: www.nbcuniversallaunch.com/tv-directors-program-female-forward<ul><li>About Robert Baltazar – Sr. Director, TV Programming DEI / NBCU LAUNCH:</li></ul>Robert Baltazar is Senior Director for the NBCU TV DEI department. In this role, he oversees the TV creative talent development Launch programs for both scripted and unscripted, such as the NBC Launch TV Writers Program, the NBCU Launch TV Directors Program | Female Forward, and the NBCU Launch New Mexico Directors Initiative. Prior to his current role, Robert worked in the entertainment industry as a non-scripted development executive at various television networks, such as Discovery Studios, Four M Studios, and ITV Studios.<ul><li>About Michael Pogarian – Manager, TV Programming DEI / NBCU LAUNCH:</li></ul>Michael Pogarian is an award winning producer and the Manager of TV DEI at NBCUniversal where he helps oversee creative development programs for emerging TV writers, directors, and below-the-line talent. Prior to working at NBCUniversal, Michael was an Associate Creative Producer at Fullscreen where he co-created and lead the AT&amp;T Hello Lab Mentorship Program. In the first two years of the program he developed, produced and distributed ten short films that premiered on DirecTV Now and were accepted to notable international film festivals including SXSW, Outfest, Calgary Film Festival, Maoriland Film Festival and many others. Before that, Michael worked in unscripted development and production at Magical Elves.<ul><li>IMPORTANT DETAILS</li></ul>This panel will take place virtually over ZOOM.
