<h1>Save the Date!</h1><h2>Join us for ImpactNights™ Women's Economic Empowerment, December 8, 2022.</h2>Our December ImpactNights, with guest facilitator Dr. Nadia Zrelli, focuses on Women's Economic Empowerment. Dr. Nadia Zrelli is a Fellow of the Hunt Institute and a resident Fulbright bringing years of experience and expertise in youth unemployment, gender disparities, and entrepreneurship. She is a graduate from the We Lead Program, Women's Initiative, Bush Institute and the LAD Program of the Center of International Private Enterprise CIPE. Investing in women sets a direct path towards gender equality, poverty eradication, and inclusive economic growth. 25 years after the Beijing declaration, women still remain disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination and are not as likely to be included in shaping economic or social policies. Women still suffer from financial insecurities stemmed from access to jobs, low-wage positions, and glass ceiling limitations. This will be an in-person event only. Check-in begins at 5:00 PM where you will be able to network with like-minded professionals. Around 5:30 PM, we break out into our subject-specific sessions. At 7:00 PM, we wrap up breakout sessions where everyone is then invited to continue the conversation.

<h1>We are excited to share the breakout sessions!</h1>We will be exploring this topic through expert-led, round-table discussions with a new twist. Each attendee will be able to take part in each session as we move as groups around the Hunt Institute. The breakout sessions are:Breaking the Cycle of PovertyTo break the vicious poverty circle, women must have income opportunities and participate in decision-making processes and leadership roles. Clara Rulegura Ford is doing just that. Having grown up in Tanzania, she founded her nonprofit organization — Kijiji Innovative Sustainable Solutions (K.I.S.S) to promote development in rural Tanzanian villages through education, community activism, sustainable initiatives, and youth and women empowerment.Women Driving InnovationIs building an impactful social network more valuable than financial capital? VR Small is the Founder and CEO of the Veteran Women’s Enterprise Center and will lead the discussion about mentors and sponsors as powerful resources for driving career development and organizational vision, investment strategies for building social capital and obtaining a solid ROI, and key pitfalls to avoid while paving your path to success. Technology for Good With a 15+ year career in engineering and digital marking, Yousra Magouri focuses on mentoring in the technology industry. This discussion will include a shift in the way we think about women&#x27;s empowerment, women entering the STEM pipeline, and how to promote female leadership in impact technologies. She is the Founder of Open Minds Project, a mentoring and professional development organization that focuses on empowering young adults in 3 key areas: self-esteem, leadership, and career skills.The Global PerspectiveNatalie Gonnella-Platts from the George W. Bush Institute bring a multitude of experience. Ms. Gonnella-Platts is responsible for research and programmatic efforts that support women and girls worldwide to lead in their communities and countries. This group will discuss how grassroots strategies, sustainability, and educational initiatives can play fundamental roles in providing the tools necessary for the lives of women.
