For DTalk Episode 2, We invite the Chairman of Foxconn, Terry Gou(郭台铭), and Professor Jay Lee(李杰) at University of Cincinnati to share their insights on Industrial AI at Stanford University on July 6th. 
Along with the development of Flying Eagle project in Wisconsin, Foxconn is giving more efforts on industrial AI research and applications. In this sharing session, Mr. Terry Gou and Professor Jay Lee will introduce to the audience on what is Industrial AI, and what kind of opportunities and challenges Industrial AI is facing when real economy is undergoing an era of digital transformation. Also in this sharing session, Foxconn sincerely invites Big Data and Artificial Intelligence talent and startups in Silicon Valley to cooperate with them to jointly develop industrial Internet and industrial intelligence.

Mr. Terry Gou was born in 1950 and founded Foxconn Technology Group (“Foxconn”) in 1974 with US$2,500. Over the last 45 years, Foxconn has become the largest manufacturing technology services provider in the world and Mr. Gou is today, the CEO of the largest private Chinese technology enterprise. Mr. Gou is also the Founder of the YongLin Foundation, a charitable organization that is actively supporting underprivileged groups through a range of education, healthcare and medical initiatives.
Mr. Gou is a member of the Advisory Board of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in Beijing and an Executive Director of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit. He was recognized as one of 30 Global Game Changers by Forbes in 2016. In addition, Mr. Gou was ranked number 29 in Harvard Business Review’s list of The Best-Performing CEOs in the World 2017, a ranking based on total shareholder return, market capitalization and environmental, social and governance performance.

Dr. Jay Lee is Ohio Eminent Scholar, L.W. Scott Alter Chair Professor, and Univ. Distinguished Professor at the Univ. of Cincinnati and is founding director of National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) on Intelligent Maintenance Systems (www.imscenter.net) which consists of the Univ. of Cincinnati (lead institution), the Univ. of Michigan, Missouri Univ. of S&T, and the Univ. of Texas-Austin. Since its inception in 2001, the Center has been supported by over 100 global companies including P&G, GE Aviation, Eaton, National Instruments, Boeing, Goodyear, Toyota, Caterpillar, Siemens, Chevron, Honeywell, Parker Hannifin, Spirit AeroSystems, Ingersoll Rand, Intel, Lam Research, Global Foundry, TI, Applied Materials, Automated Precision Inc. (API), Samsung Korea, FORCAM, Bosch Rexroth, Alstom Transport, Plastic Omnium, Denso, Hitachi, Omron, Nissan, Toshiba, MHI, Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Tekniker of Spain, FMTC of Belgium, Kistler of Switzerland, HIWIN, Advantech, Cosen, PMC, III, UMC, SANY, China State Ship, Shanghai Electric, BaoSteel, Foxconn, Huawei, etc. IMS was selected as the most economically impactful I/UCRC in the NSF Economic Impact Study Report in 2012 which reported that the Center has delivered to its members a combined benefit of $847.6 million in cost savings, and that the Center returned $238.30 of benefits for every $1 invested by the National Science Foundation.
