Please join the Yale Club of San Francisco and the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance for a special event with award-winning chef, author, filmmaker, founder, and social activist, <a href="https://www.elizabethfalkner.com/" title="https://www.elizabethfalkner.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Elizabeth Falkner</a>. Renowned in the Bay Area for Citizen Cake and Orson, she will share stories of creative ventures in culinary arts, sustainable food initiatives, and lead a private screening of "Sorry, We're Closed”. In her 2023 documentary, Falkner talks with chefs across the country and with <a href="https://history.yale.edu/people/paul-freedman" title="https://history.yale.edu/people/paul-freedman" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Yale Professor of History, Paul Freedman</a>, about the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on chefs and independent restaurants. (Another of her films, <a href="https://www.elizabethfalkner.com/videos" title="https://www.elizabethfalkner.com/videos" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">"Food Games Sustainability the Future of Food"</a>, was shot on location at Yale and in New Haven). A cocktail tasting featuring recently launched T’MARO spirits made with California dates will follow. <a href="https://www.tmarobrands.com/" title="https://www.tmarobrands.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">T’MARO</a>, founded by Falkner and partner Heather Freyer, was reviewed in <a href="https://www.nobhillgazette.com/food_and_wine/wine_and_spirits/with-tmaro-a-new-spirit-has-been-born-in-the-bay/article_8094ec62-569a-11ef-9118-cb96f61474bf.html" title="https://www.nobhillgazette.com/food_and_wine/wine_and_spirits/with-tmaro-a-new-spirit-has-been-born-in-the-bay/article_8094ec62-569a-11ef-9118-cb96f61474bf.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">"The Nob Hill Gazette”</a>. Light hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. The event will be introduced by <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/eleanorpepples/" title="https://www.linkedin.com/in/eleanorpepples/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Eleanor Pepples</a>, Board Director of the <a href="https://yalesf.org/" title="https://yalesf.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Yale Club of San Francisco</a> and Chair of the <a href="https://www.yalenonprofitalliance.org/" title="https://www.yalenonprofitalliance.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance</a> of the SF/Bay Area. Early bird registration is $65 until November 6th; thereafter, general admission is $85. Yale Club of SF contributing members receive a $20 discount on the full general admission price.
