硅谷课堂背景：
对于每一位准备在异国他乡留学的孩子，不管是只身一人还是幸运的有父母的陪伴，离开自己熟悉的家和朋友，远到太平洋对岸的美国求学，意味着要做好慢慢熟悉独立经营打理自己生活的准备，而这并不像想象中那样容易。
初来乍到，摆在国际生们面前的不仅仅有法律法规上与中国不同的禁区陷阱，还有日常生活中的社会文化差异。这是一个有着多元文化的国家，从衣食住行到学校课堂，都和中国大相径庭。
本期微课堂我们就给大家分享一些有关国际学生在文化与心理上需要对留学美国做的准备。希望能帮助大家在来美之前就能提前了解这些文化差异，做好心理建设和思想准备，减少那些不必要的误会和弯路。
 
硅谷课堂主题：
1. 中美文化上的差异：新的教室文化，和社交，生活衣食住行上如何迅速适应？
2. 来到美国前从心理和思想上需要做什么准备：需要预见到什么不同，需要做哪些相应的准备？
3. 针对美国社会文化与地域的多元性的一些建议
 
硅谷课堂嘉宾：
Christina
Christina拥有中国，英国和美国等多国教育背景，取得电子工程和计算机硕士学位。在美国生活多年，曾从事计算机相关科学的研究，并曾参与创办相关startup。现从事金融领域工作，并在多个非营利性组织做义工。
 
Sue 
Sue来自新加坡，从芝加哥大学获得教育学硕士学位，以及心理学博士学位。在前往纽约州立大学任教前，Sue在耶鲁大学进行博士后的研究。现在，Sue从事教育顾问的工作，帮助亚洲孩子实现来美国学习的梦想。
 
Amy，Harmony Plus资深华人顾问
Amy是国内八十年代留美的第一批留学生。大学攻读纯美术。毕业后做为职业画者多年来参加画廊展出；她也担任过封面设计师。Amy持有华德福教师证书, 曾多年任职美国华德福高中做教师，也兼任过学生导师和班级辅导员。她善长深度理解高中生的个体特征，个性属性和青春期各阶段的复杂心理，并热衷于支持学生们文化的融入，沟通能力和人格成长以及培养。
