"Light in Dark Times" An Asian American Healing Convening

Chopsticks Alley Art promotes Southeast Asian cultural heritage through the creative shared expression of art by underserved Asian artists to foster greater understanding, acceptance and support among individuals with differing abilities, the LGBTQ community, and youth.

Chopsticks Alley Art created a convening place for Asian Americas to meet, eat, make art, relax, and connect.

﻿Chopsticks Alley Art created<a href="https://www.chopsticksalleyart.org/aah" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Asian American Healing Convening</a> as a safe place for us to meet to address mental health challenges we are facing in times of Covid and systemic racism towards Asian Americans. We provide an intimate environment for us connect, share, and reclaim our powers through food, storytelling, meditation, and art. Our goal is to continue providing AAh Convening every quarter to stay connected with our Asian community and continue building community to better support each other.​For this event, we will be making Holiday Ornaments to decorate our Community Tree. We will later donate these ornaments with meaningful messages to an Asian health organizations so they may gift them to their clients. NOTE: Our goal with this gathering is to provide a safe space for those who have an Asian cultural background or identify as Asians only so that they may comfortably connect with others of similar backgrounds and discuss issues that are faced within the Asian community. For this reason, we ask those who do not identify as Asian to opt out of this gathering, and join us for one of the many other events and workshops we host on a regular basis!
