Sâde Gryffin, Ph.D., was born and raised in Wales and currently lives and works on the ancestral lands of the Southern Pomo and Coast Miwok peoples (Sonoma County, Northern California.) Sâde identifies as Queer and Trans and is a Psychic Energy Healer, Teacher, and Artist. His Energy Healing practice and teaching are deeply rooted in his research and study of the earth-honoring traditions of his ancestral homeland of Wales.He brings a bold and pragmatic sensibility to his work through a unique combination of psychic lineage, his former career as a seasoned arts professor, and decades of experience in the healing arts. Celebrate the Winter Solstice this year through the unique lens of Queer Trans Welsh Mystic and Psychic Energy Healer Sâde Gryffin as he deftly conjures the stories of his native homeland. In this dynamic, experiential workshop, you are invited to explore a potent healing journey into the landscape of ancient myth and sacred symbols of Welsh Mysticism. The people of Wales are the original people of Prydain, the land now known as Britain. These indigenous people called themselves Cymry, meaning fellow country people. After many conquests, the Anglo-Saxons colonized the Cymry (the early English), and the county became known as Wales. The Welsh now occupy a small area of Britain to the west of England. Today we know this land in English as Wales, and in our native language as Cymru.The oral storytelling tradition of Wales is thousands of years old, predating the Christians and Pagans. These ancient stories are known as teaching tales or sacred scripts and are layered with powerful knowing that opens to those ready to seek it. As a Trans/nonbinary Welsh Queer, Sâde Gryffin navigates the retelling of these Welsh tales and myths from a perspective beyond the hetero-normative, gender binary tropes and encourages you to reflect on your interpretations and find what resonates with you.In this experiential workshop, through meditation and ritual, you will explore the symbols and themes of the three sacred realms of land, sea, and sky through the seminal Welsh tale of the birth of Awen, a Welsh word meaning breath or inspiration, akin to lifeforce. Do I need to be Welsh to attend? You do not need to identify as Welsh or as someone with Welsh/Celtic heritage to attend or benefit from this class; the spiritual knowledge is open to all who wish to learn respectfully. I am grateful to the indigenous people who tend these lands and have tended these lands for centuries. I am a Trans/Nonbinary Welsh Queer, Mystic, Psychic Energy Healer, Teacher, and Artist. I was born and raised in Wales in the UK and moved to the San Francisco bay area to study art in the late 90s. My spiritual practice and ceremony work is rooted in the earth-honoring traditions of my ancestral homeland. I am currently researching ancient Welsh Wisdom traditions by incorporating my channeling skills to glean knowledge from sacred and Neolithic sites around Wales. I bring a bold and pragmatic sensibility to my work through a unique combination of psychic lineage, intensive clairvoyant training; 30 years of experience in the healing arts; and my former career as a seasoned arts professor.
