Founders'  Day Celebration

We are charged to be leaders in our community and actively engage the citizens of Charlotte, NC. We accomplish this through a number of our signature programs. Alpha Academy is targeted to 9th -11th graders, it seeks to provide educational opportunities, self improvement, and the essentials of being a gentleman. Our Beautillion program continues on the Alpha Academy programming but is targeted towards high school seniors. Our students go through a number of sessions geared to prepare them for college life. The culmination of the program is a Rites of Passage and formal production presenting them to the community. We are active politically through our “A Voteless People Is a Hopeless People” program working hard to ensure we register voters and by providing access to candidates via political forums. The chapter also presents Project Alpha annually, a partnership with the March of Dimes. Project Alpha is designed to provide education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. We also financially support the MLK Memorial, March for Babies, Project L.I.F.T., The Freedom School at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and various other community initiatives.

<p>The brothers of the Beta Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha are celebrating Founders' Day Weekend. Come join us as we celebrate 116 ice cold winters and kick off the weekend. We will be at Sofie's after the dinner crowd starting at 9:00 PM and will have fun and fellowship until 1 AM. Music will be provided by DJ Cuttz . Don't miss a great time with the Alphas of Charlotte.</p>
