PRÉNDELO! is an evening to connect beyond culture and food–a place to build and connect with our community. Join us, on the evening of December 1st. No one will be turned away for lack of funds so long as venue capacity has not been reached. Donate what you can and/or purchase a ticket for entry! All money raised will go towards the programming of Asheville Writers in the Schools and Community (AWITSC). Your ticket will include a vegan 5-Course Peruvian meal! The menu is as follows: <blockquote>Anticuchos - Mushrooms, green papaya and Peruvian corn with ají panca</blockquote><blockquote>Causa - Potato roll with yellow chili cream, vegetables and tofu</blockquote><blockquote>Green Rice - Rice with coriander, vegetables and crispy tofu with zarza criolla</blockquote><blockquote>Ají de Champiñones - Mushrooms in creamy ají amarillo sauce with white rice</blockquote><blockquote>Picarones - Peruvian Doughnuts made with sweet potato and acorn squash dough, raw sugar and fig syrup</blockquote><blockquote>ALLERGEN NOTES: This menu is VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE and NUT FREE</blockquote>It will include a live musical performance by the drummers LATIN FOLA, and the Marisa Blake Trio comprised of Marisa Blake, Josh Blake (GFE, JBOT, Tuesday Night Funk Jam Band) and Tyler Housholder (Caitlin Krisco and the The Broadcast); Learning about the history of Colombian cumbia from Dr. Juan Sánchez Martinez, Professor of Languages and Literatures, and Native American and Indigenous Studies at the University of North Carolina Asheville; and, a lively night ending with a dance party hosted by DJ’s Malintzin &amp; Tamagotchi. Accessibility Info: As this event is indoors, it is important that we are mindful of this gathering being held around holidays where travel is more frequent. To remain in integrity with Covid practices that mitigate risk and keep our communities safe, this event will require masks (masks will be provided at the door for those who need them)!!! There is an available elevator, as well as a stairwell located to the right of the main entrance and down a short hallway.
