Join us at Caffè Lena for a special 45th anniversary screening of "Gospel", a landmark concert film directed by Fred Ritzenberg and featuring music recorded and mixed by 7-time GRAMMY winner Joel Moss, co-producer of our JAZZ at Caffè Lena Series.

Originally released in 1980, "Gospel" captures the power, joy, and soul of traditional gospel music at its height. The film features unforgettable performances by five of the greatest gospel acts of the 20th century:

James Cleveland & His Choir

The Mighty Clouds of Joy

Twinkie Clark & The Clark Sisters

Rev. Shirley Caesar

Edwin Hawkins & The Hawkins Family

With dynamic live footage and spirit-lifting sound, "Gospel" stands as a vibrant testament to faith, artistry, and musical excellence.

After the screening, stay for a live Q&A with co-producer/director Fred Ritzenberg and music producer Joel Moss who recorded and mixed the music, as they share stories behind the film and reflect on its legacy 45 years later.

This is a fundraiser for Caffè Lena.

Experience the music. Celebrate the history. Be part of the conversation.
