CulturalDC has made a name for itself in providing a platform for bold contemporary artists to interact with audiences in thought-provoking ways. Previous exhibitions include “Ivanka Vacuuming” by Jennifer Rubell, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL” by Jefferson Pinder, and “Mighty, Mighty” by Devan Shimoyama. CulturalDC owns Source Theatre and a 40-ft shipping container transformed into a Mobile Art Gallery. CulturalDC presents TORRENTS: New Links to Black Futures, an inaugural artist-led convergence exploring new territory in Black future-building. November 10 - 13th, multi-location event in Washington, DC.

&quot;﻿Black Man is a Planet&quot; 2022&quot;In a parallel future, the year is 2856, and black men and women posses the technology to spread their consciousness through out the universe.D﻿ue to overpopulation, the algorithm overload, and disappearing resources, each man must find new planets to inhabit.T﻿his one way trip will test their mental and emotional fortitude as the traveler realizes what is important, what should we keep, and what shall be left behind. &quot;<a href="https://mapsglover.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Maps Glover</a> is a conceptual artist with a desire to create and tell new stories through an Afrofuturist lens.
