CulturalDC has made a name for itself in providing a platform for bold contemporary artists to interact with audiences in thought-provoking ways. Previous exhibitions include “Ivanka Vacuuming” by Jennifer Rubell, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL” by Jefferson Pinder, and “Mighty, Mighty” by Devan Shimoyama. CulturalDC owns Source Theatre and a 40-ft shipping container transformed into a Mobile Art Gallery. CulturalDC presents TORRENTS: New Links to Black Futures, an inaugural artist-led convergence exploring new territory in Black future-building. November 10 - 13th, multi-location event in Washington, DC.

Portals A future music showcase featuring BSA Gold, Corbin Canvas &amp; Echelon The Seeker . BSA Gold is a producer and flutist from Washington, DC. Inspired by Pharoah Sanders, Sun Ra, Sade, and the traditional sounds of her Ethiopian ancestry, she experiments with synths and electronic grooves, exploring the possibilities for composition as a producer and songwriter. BSA Gold has performed for MC Lyte&#x27;s &quot;Women in Hip-Hop&quot; at The Kennedy Center, Brooklyn&#x27;s Soul in the Horn, SummerStage NYC, etc. and more recently opened for Son&#x27;s of Kemet&#x27;s Theon Cross. BSA Gold is a 2020 recipient of Harlem Stage&#x27;s Water Works Grant as a part of Long Arms. When not performing, she curates music programming across various spaces in Chicago and NYC. CORBIN CANVAS is a multi-instrumentalist and multi-hyphenate producer, rapper and singer-songwriter originally from Washington, DC. CANVAS began to surface from musician to solo recording artist in early 2020 after debuting his first future-forward, project titled “JIVE JIVE EP”. This 7 track EP combined HOUSE, HIP-HOP, DISCO, FUNK, AFRO-BEAT, R&amp;B and MODERN JAZZ all in one avant-garde yet cohesive project. CANVAS is mostly known for his rhythmic multi-layered production style and futuristic flow. Echelon the Seeker is a composer, pianist, vocalist who uses innovative and colorful ways to engage the ears of his listeners. His R&amp;B/80s pop sensibilities along with the potent messages intertwined in the lyrics leave audiences feeling both nostalgic and thought provoked. With the release of his sophomore album “Anakainosis”, Echelon puts the concept of renewing the mind to lyrics and imagery. Every track showcases his ability to bring everyday experiences to life through song.
