「墨と心象」 Sumi: Inner Landscapes - Exhibition Opening   |   Aoi Yamaguchi's contemporary Japanese calligraphy and bokushō expressions.

Hugomento is excited to present 「墨と心象」 Sumi: Inner Landscapes, master calligrapher and artist Aoi Yamaguchi’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, on view from November 12 until the end of the year.Through endless experimentation, Yamaguchi explores the depth of the shades and expressive effects that sumi ink can create in the monochromatic linguistic landscape. This exhibition showcases Yamaguchi’s selected artworks exploring the world of tanboku (淡墨), in the form of bokushō (墨象), also known as zen-ei shodo (前衛書道), the art of abstract expressionism through the medium of Japanese calligraphy.Artist Reception: November 12, 3-6 pm
