ABOUT MORVEN MUSEUM & GARDEN:A National Historic Landmark, Morven is unique in that it was home to many remarkable people. For nearly 300 years Morven has played a role in the history of New Jersey and the nation. Originally part of a 5,500-acre tract purchased from William Penn in 1701 by the Stockton family, it is the home of Richard Stockton, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence, and is the only home of a New Jersey signer which is highly interpreted and open regularly to the public. As well as serving as a Stockton homestead for several generations into the 20th century, and home to generations of enslaved men and women, Morven was home to the families and household staff of Robert Wood Johnson, Jr., and five New Jersey Governors through 1982 as New Jersey’s first Governor’s Mansion.Morven Museum & Garden showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Garden State through regular exhibitions, educational programs and special events. Bring the whole family for a magical evening of holiday storytelling with the Princeton Storytelling Circle.

Join Morven for a magical evening of holiday storytelling with the Princeton Storytelling Circle. The evening will start with a self-guided tour through the museum’s enchanting Festival of Trees followed by snacks and storytime in the Stockton Education Center. Five storytellers from the Princeton Storytelling Circle will share a diverse collection of winter folk tales and holiday stories that are sure to delight adult and young audience members alike. Tickets include admission for up to two adults and four children. The event is recommended for ages 4+. Attendees are invited to visit the Festival of Trees any time from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a self-guided experience. The storytelling program will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the museum’s Stockton Education Center. This program is only offered in-person.

P﻿rinceton Storytelling Circle BiographiesJoe DudisJoe Dudis has been a storyteller for 30+ years. He tells literary, tall and folk tales. He’s a tour guide at New Jersey’s State House in Trenton and a member of the Somerville N.J. chapter of Toastmaster’s International. He was previously a tour guide at Duke Farms in N.J. and an exhibit interpreter at the New Jersey Science Museum. Joe lives in Bound Brook and is a retiree from Telcordia Technologies, where he worked as a software developer.Eva Liane FosterEva Liane Foster has been telling stories formally since 1987, and informally for most of her life. She enjoys both the intimacy of small audiences — classrooms, birthday parties — and the energy of large ones — church services, school assemblies, library auditoriums. Her favorite stories include folktales, vignettes of family history, literary material, and the occasional mishmash of all of these. Eva lives in Princeton with her husband and two cats.Kathryn WeidenerKathryn has been telling tales all her life. Joining the profession of Storytellers has been an opportunity to read and retell great tales with a little embellishment of props and audience participation. She is the current president of New Jersey Storytelling Network and knows that events like this don’t happen without group cooperation. Happy to be present with a live audience!Maria LoBiondoMaria LoBiondo believes that a story is a heart-to-heart gift shared between teller and listener, connecting generations in the moment together. She began practicing the oral tradition of telling multicultural folk and fairy tales when expecting her second child; her daughter is now 28 years old. Her engaging style and lively expressions have delighted listeners in classrooms, libraries, religious settings, and festivals.Luray GrossStoryteller, published poet, and teaching artist Luray Gross grew up on a busy dairy farm just across the Delaware where she told her first stories to herself while perched in an apple tree. Over the last 30-some years she has worked with thousands of students and teachers, as well as in community settings. Sharing poetry and stories with others has become one of her essential joys. Known for her energetic and sensitive teaching style, she believes that creative expression is vital to our lives.
