The Hands Up Outreach Ministry will offer its annual turkey basket to Washington, D.C., residents on Saturday, October 19, from 11:00 - 2:30 PM at the Park View Recreation Center. Thanksgiving baskets will come with a ready-to-cook dinner of turkey, stuffing mix, onions and celery, and canned green beans. One turkey basket will be given per family. Individuals can register for a basket online using the form below and pregnant women, students, seniors, and families eligible for TANF, SNAP, and WIC benefits will have priority. Registration is set to open from Friday, October 14, to Friday, November 11. Hands Up staff will reach out to everyone who registered by Monday, November 14, and registrants will have to pick up their basket on Saturday, October 19, from 11:00 - 12:30 PM at the Park View Recreation Center (693 Otis Pl NW, Washington DC 20010). We look forward to seeing you this holiday season! NOTE: Hands Up provided turkey baskets to over 400 families in 2021, but the organization expects the demand for the baskets to rise this holiday season. The nonprofit is looking for community contributions as it relies solely on donations and does not receive government assistance. Individuals and organizations may visit Handsupministry.org to donate with &quot;Thanksgiving Baskets&quot; in the memo line. Contributions to Hands Up, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax-deductible. If your business or organization is interested in sponsoring our 2022 Thanksgiving Basket Drive, please contact Rev. Christopher Tobias at ctobias@handsupministry.org. Sponsorship commitments are due Tuesday, November 1st by 12:00 PM.
