The UW-Milwaukee chapter of Engineers Without Borders is a group of students and professional mentors that assess, design, and build water distribution and sanitation systems with communities in Quiche region of Guatemala, more specifically the Ixil Triangle. By providing these systems we hope to help these regions develop important infrastructure and improve overall quality of life. <h3>This fundraiser will include:</h3><ul><li>Food from local Milwaukee vendors</li><li>A bar</li><li>Musical entertainment</li><li>A presentation on the previous trip taken by the UW-Milwaukee chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB@UWM)</li><li>A silent auction</li><li>Wine pull ($10/bottle until they are all gone)</li></ul>Help us raise funds to continue our humanitarian work to bring potable running water to impoverished villages in the Ixil Triangle of Guatemala. 100% of the proceeds go toward building water systems!<h3>Mission Statement:</h3>EWB@UWM works in coordination with EWB-USA, a non-profit humanitarian organization, 501(c)(3), established to improve the quality of life in developing communities. EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders. EWB@UWM aims to combine sustainable engineering with a passion for human life. Our humanitarian work brings running water to impoverished villages in the Ixil Triangle of Guatemala. We have chosen to volunteer our time in these projects because water is an essential part of life. We believe that everyone has a right to access our planet&#x27;s most valuable resource. EWB@UWM also aims to improve the sustainable use of energy in Wisconsin. Through local design and outreach we strive to bring new concepts to areas around our university or businesses that have an interest in our work.
