Learn water-wise landscape design to help you develop a waterwise landscape for your personal property.

Landscape design can be intimidating, especially in arid climates where water is scarce. This workshop provides a step-by-step process to help you first understand your property, develop a program and function within your landscape, and finally create a landscape plan for your property. This workshop will consist of a series of online modules and assignment to help you initiate the analysis portion of the design process, as well as a multi-day, in-person, hands-on experience where you will work on the details of a design for your own property. The intent is to help you experience the design process and aid you in developing water-wise landscape design solutions for your property. The class will be taught by Utah State University Extension faculty and staff experienced in water wise landscape design and implementation.At the conclusion of this course students will have an understanding of the landscape design process, techniques for developing water-wise landscape design solutions, and will have created a landscape design for their personal property. The course consists of online modules that you will be given access to 3-4 weeks before the in-person workshop. The online portion consists of approximately 5-10 hours of information and tasks that will prepare you to attend the1.5 day in-person workshop. During the in-person workshop you will take the ideas you explored in the online portion of the workshop and work to detail you final landscape design for your property. During this portion of the course you will work closely with the workshop faculty and staff to receive personalized feedback and design critiques. The course should only be taken if the participant is committed to completing the online modules and can fully attend all of the in-person workshop days. The cost of the course covers your attendance to the in-person workshop and access to the online modules.
