A gathering of stakeholders interested in moving the provision of accessible education forward for neurodivergent children in Africa.

Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Conference (SENICON) is a gathering of education stakeholders who are interested in moving forward the knowledge and practice of providing quality accessible education for neurodivergent children in Africa.The importance of early childhood development, care and education is well established within global research and remains a targeted goal within the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (UN SDG4). However, for children with disabilities especially neurodivergent children in Africa, the scarce evidence available shows that the first 6 years are usually characterised by limited health and educational support. Given the above, SENICON 2022 will focus on the strengthening of early years provisions for neurodivergent children through the theme: &#x27;Building stronger foundations for the early childhood education of neurodivergent children in Africa&#x27;. Within this theme, our attention will be on provisions and practices that are culturally relevant and accessible.The conference which will be held online will run for 2 days from 1st to 2nd December 2022 in commemoration of this year&#x27;s International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
