A Taste of Silk Painting Workshop

The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier cultural destination and community gathering place in Central Florida, about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. A&H is a group of sophisticated attractions that includes a contemporary art museum, 3 interactive history museums, and a stunning campus recognized as Central Florida's only National Historic Landmark. A&H also features a community art school nestled among its beautiful gardens and unique architecture.Founded in 1937 as an artists’ retreat, our space still fulfills this mission today with multiple artist residencies serving both local and international artists. A&H provides the Central Florida community with many  activities every month, including free family programming, affordable site tours, and free presentations on art and history from visiting experts. <h2>A Taste of Silk Painting Workshop</h2><h3><strong>Instructor: Peggy Wertheim</strong></h3><p>Discover, enjoy and create fine radiant art on silk using the Gutta Serti Technique. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Everyone is successful! DESIGNS PROVIDED! This is an incredible art form where no mistakes can be made. Students will delve into and learn resist application, color blending, salt techniques, and paint applications to create One or Two 14” hooped silk paintings ready to take home to enjoy &amp; hang on your wall. A wealth of design ideas and reference books provided.                                                                                                                                                                            __________________________________________________________________________________</p><p>Workshop is for adults 18 and over. Registration is $55. Please note that a materials fee of $20 (in cash) is due to the instructor at the start of the workshop. </p>
