Learn how to make your own cocktail bitters!

From ancient medicine to classic drink ingredients, bitters are there to pack a punch! In this Plant Party we&#x27;ll be talking about how to harvest and use dry plant materials, make herbal preparations, and pair flavors. We will briefly go over what classic bitters (Angostura, Peychaud’s, and orange bitters) use, or what we know they use since Angostura and Peychaud’s have heavily guarded recipes.This will also be a more diy version of last years event utilizing raw materials to build your base to take home. We&#x27;ll talk about extraction methods, taste some mini classic cocktails featuring bitters, and build our own jar to take home.Come experiment with us! Last year we had a lot of fun exploring flavors together and we all got excited about our particular blends. We’ll be adding some more flavors to the mix this year with VA native plant material from people’s properties. Juniper berries, black walnut hulls, yarrow, and more!Ticket includes materials (dried plant matter, glass dropper bottles,) instruction, bitters tasting, several cocktail tasters, and some palate-cleansing snacks. You&#x27;ll take home 2 customized cocktail bitters mixes (a perfect present for cocktail lovers.)
